10/20/2016 UPDATE! We are thrilled to report Lexi has a family!!! Thank you to all who advocated for this brave little girl!
We need to find a family for Lexi! If now is not the right time for you please consider sharing her story. It may be the perfect time for someone you know!
$2000 agency grant for Lexi's adoption is available
Beautiful Lexi (RK# 32080) will soon turn five. Because her skin is easily affected by friction and even small bumps resulting in painful blisters and sores she requires extra care and attention. She has an experienced nanny who will carefully hold her and give her the warmth and affection she so deeply needs but Lexi needs more. She needs a family who will shower her with the love every five year old deserves.
As with others who have her condition, Lexi seems to fare better in the winter months or in colder climates.
According to her most recent update from July 2015 Lexi is cognitively spot on with peers her same age. She is well behaved, obeys rules, knows how to share and is very expressive. Her emotional development is said to be normal, however due to her special need she cannot have very close physical contact with other kids so she has become more introverted and likes quiet. She especially likes the task of feeding little kids.

Other grants may be available based on the adoptive family's circumstances. Agency grants are awarded as agency fee reductions. MAA also partners with the Brittany's Hope Foundation for matching grants, which are given out twice a year and to families that already have their letter of approval from China.

The Gladney Center for Adoption is a long-established, Hague-accredited adoption agency with more than 135 years of experience in creating bright futures for children and families. Gladney’s international adoption program offers families across the United States the opportunity to adopt children from around the world, with active programs in countries such as Bulgaria, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, India, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam. The agency is deeply committed to ethical and transparent adoption practices that prioritize the best interests of each child. Gladney’s international program focuses on “waiting children”—those who are legally free for adoption but may be older, part of a sibling group, or have identified medical or developmental needs. Families who work with Gladney receive comprehensive support throughout every stage of the process, including pre-adoption education and training, home study and dossier preparation, coordination with foreign partners, travel guidance, and post-adoption services. With a dedicated team of professionals and strong relationships with child welfare authorities abroad, Gladney ensures that each adoption is handled with compassion, integrity, and excellence. Families who partner with Gladney become part of a lifelong community, supported well beyond placement as they help their children thrive in their new homes and embrace their cultural heritage.
