Adopting a Waiting Child from a Photolisting

You want to adopt a child. I've been in your shoes. In fact, I've worn those shoes five times. Before you visit the RainbowKids.com Adoption Photolisting, I ask that you take just a few short minutes to read this important information, and ask yourself a few vital questions, such as:

  • Am I ready to adopt? Do I have an approved homestudy that would allow me to proceed with the adoption of one of these children waiting for a family?
  • Am I strong enough NOT to fall in love with a child's photo before I have all the medical and social information possible to obtain?
  • Do I qualify to adopt and do I know which countries are open to me?
  • Am I willing to research carefully the adoption agency that represents the child I wish to adopt?

These children are real and they are available for adoption. We offer this adoption photolisting as a way to highlight children who truly need families. We ask only that those who visit the waiting child area be emotionally prepared. We also ask that you read the following disclaimer before proceeding:

Disclaimer: The children listed in this area are represented by certain agencies. These agencies have invested incredible amounts of time and resources to advocate for these particular children. Please know that if you wish to adopt a certain child you MUST be willing to adopt through the agency that represents that child. Also, a completed homestudy is needed by the representing agency in order to evaluate you as adoptive parents. Rainbowkids.com provides the photolisting service to adoption agencies who advertise in our Adoption Agencies area. We have no control over the individual listing of children, nor do we imply any recommendation to any one of the agencies that photolist. It is the sole responsibility of each family to research the agency representing the child. In a nutshell: please do not fall in love until you have done your homework.

It is our pleasure to bring you this wonderful photolisting of children waiting to be adopted. The children listed in this area come from many different countries.

If you are interested in a particular child, simply complete the form on the corresponding page
.

Waiting Child Newsletter:  In addition to this photolisting, we also have a private email list of children who are waiting to be adopted, but who cannot be photolisted due to the policies of their birth-countries.  To join this special list, please click here

The Waiting Child
by Debbie Bodie

I saw you meet
your child today
You kissed your
baby joyfully
And as you walked
away with her
I played pretend
you'd chosen me.

I'm happy for the baby,
yet
Inside I"m aching
miserably
I want to plead as
you go by,
``Does no-one want
a child of three?"

I saw you meet
your child today
In love with her
before you met
And as I watched
you take her out
I knew it wasn't
my turn yet.

I recognize you
from last year!
I knew I'd seen your
face before!
But you cam for a
second babe.
Does no-one want
a child of four?

I saw you meet
your child today
But this time there was
something new
A nurse came in
and took MY hand
And then she gave
my hand to you.

Can this be true?
I'm almost six!
And there are
infants here you see?
But then you kissed me
and I knew
The child you chose
this time was me.
