In celebration of its 5 Year Anniversary, Mixed Roots Foundation will host its 4th Annual ‘Adoptee Night’ with the LA Dodgers during National Foster Care Month as they take on the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 7:10 p.m. at Dodger Stadium.

Kevin Frazier, Co-Host of Entertainment Tonight will throw out the first pitch to his oldest son, Tony Tull whom he had given up for adoption while Kevin was a teenager. In partnership with Mixed Roots Foundation and The City of Los Angeles, Mayor Eric Garcetti has joined the team of Kevin Frazier to help raise awareness for National Foster Care month by participating in a PSA that will air at Dodger Stadium for the 4th Annual LA Dodgers Adoptee Night event.

Along with The City of Los Angeles and Mayor Garcetti, Mixed Roots Foundation has also partnered with several individuals, businesses and organizations in the greater community to assist with the recruitment of adoptees, foster youth and their families to participate in the special event including Spokeo, the Los Angeles Lakers, Vlado Footwear, Brotherhood Crusade, Mixed Chicks, The Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Stratford Schools, The Beverly Hilton, MindBomb Clothing, Primrose Home Health Care, Inc., Christine’s Mod Art, Hilton Universal, Hair Wraps by Brenna, KMK Commercial Insurance, Embassy Suites – Downey, DoubleTree by Hilton Downtown Los Angeles, Five Acres, Raise a Child, AdoptTogether, Southern California Gas Company, Printing Depot, LA Job Corps, Kindred Foundation for Adoption, Together We Rise, Vista Del Mar Children & Family Services, and the Law Offices of John H. Information Session for Connect for Kids - China

May 26, 2016 Nationwide

Connect for Kids – China

An advocacy camp IN CHINA that connects kids with families

Connect for Kids is a week-long program that connects institutionalized children (ages 6-13) with volunteers who commit to serving as advocates in helping them find a family. As a volunteer of Connect for Kids, you will travel as a group to China and spend time getting to know children who are eligible for adoption, but who are still waiting in the system.

Throughout the week, you will engage in fun and interesting activities with the children, providing a chance to get to know these children beyond the medical paperwork that tends to define them. This advocacy program is an opportunity to open the door to a permanent family as well as a fun-filled, week-long pause from the institutional routine. For most children, it may be the first time they’ve taken in the sights and sounds of their community, outside orphanage walls.

Connect for Kids is also an alternative to a traditional hosting program. Unlike a hosting program, Connect for Kids children do not travel to the U.S.—but volunteers travel to China as part of a well-organized and structured group, with an emphasis on the needs of the child. While the children’s daily schedules will be new and different for the week-long program, they will remain in the comfort of their home country speaking their language.

EVENT DATES: May 31-June 15. Dillon International's Visit China tour is scheduled during the summer so that kids won’t miss any school during this life-changing trip.
