Adoptee Support Groups

In our adoptee support groups, we engage in age-appropriate discussions about diversity and culture, school issues, adoption and birth families. Each group is open to adopted children and their families, regardless of placing agency.

UPCOMING SERIES INFORMATION

The groups are broken into two session times by age, and then within each session children are divided into smaller groups based on their age. While the children meet, a corresponding parent session takes place for parents to listen and learn from each other.

Dates of Support Groups in this Series

January 30, February 13, February 27, March 12, April 2, April 16

Times of Support Groups in this Series:

Gumdrop Group | ages 1-4 | 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Bubblegum Group | ages 5-14 | 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.

Cost

The series is $150/child and includes the cost of the corresponding parent session that meets at the same time as each adoptee support group. If you register for the group sessions via one of dates listed in our online calendar, you will be registered for every date listed.

*Unfortunately, we are unable to provide childcare for younger/older siblings during the group times. We ask that only children who are registered for the group attend along with their parent(s). Thank you for your understanding.

We will be holding a conference call for anyone interested in learning about Gladney's Superkids Advocacy Camp trip for prospective adoptive parents.

The Superkids Advocacy Camp is an opportunity for prospective adoptive parents to travel to China and learn a little bit more about the children  who are waiting for forever families and to possibly meet the child they may adopt. 

The trip will take place from April 9-17 and the group will be visiting two of Gladney's partner orphanages - Shanghai Children's Home and Changsha #1 Social Welfare Institute. The cost of the trip will be approximately $2600 per participant, and this will include all travel/lodging/food. The cost of the China visa will be separate.
