Connect For Kids Colombia Camp Information

Children's Home Society of Minnesota

Online Event Mar 05, 2015 Nationwide Show event description and sign up to attend

What is Connect for Kids?

Connect for Kids provides children in Colombia who are awaiting adoption the chance to experience all the fun of summer camp. But a week of camp is just the beginning – the impact of Connect for Kids has the potential to last throughout a child’s life.

Each child will be matched with a volunteer mentor – called a “padrino” or godparent in Colombia – to ensure a continued long-term connection with a positive adult who is committed to guiding them through adolescence and into adulthood.

Our inaugural Connect for Kids in 2014 was a success! The children and volunteers had a wonderful experience and built many positive relationships that will last for years to come. Through the camp, a number of children found families, while others established a group of advocates dedicated to helping them find a permanent adoptive home.

Connect for Kids is a program of Children’s Home and Lutheran Social Service, facilitated by our U.S. and Colombian staff members.
