Wanted: Parents of Children with Special Needs!
Have you adopted a child with a special need? We need to hear from you!
May 01,2006 / Martha Osborne
Untitled Document

RainbowKids.com is currently looking for families with experience adopting and parenting children with the following special needs:

  • Cleft Lip / Palette or other Cranial Facial Special Need
  • Blind or Sight Impaired
  • Heart Defect
  • Cerebral Palsy
  • Older Child (above the age of 4 years)
  • Attachment/Bonding Issues

We have already found a number of volunteers who will be advocating for children who are deaf, have albinism, down syndrome and many other special needs, but we are searching for other parents of children with the above special needs, who are ready to tell the world, "These Kids Are Great!", as well as share experiences and help build a community.

We need advocates willing to share their experiences! We are looking for individuals who enjoy being online, meeting families interested in adopting special needs children, and who want to build communities that support the adoption of these wonderful children.

Time requirements would be approximately 3-5 hours per week.

Benefits include (but are not limited to):

  • Helping special kids find families
  • Getting email from families years later sharing stories and showing photos of the children you advocated for
  • A sense of fulfillment and purpose
  • Belonging to a “family” of people whose hearts remain with the children who are ‘left behind'.

Note from Martha, Editor of RainbowKids.com: I have teamed up with a number of others who are advocating for special kids. If you think you might like to be involved, please email me at: Martha@rainbowkids.com so that I might share with you our vision. We need parents who have already walked this road and adopted kids with these specific special needs. If you are outgoing, positive and want to make a difference, then email me today!

Hi there! My husband and I have had our foster son since he was 4 months old. He is now 13 months. Kayden has cerebral palsy. He is an absolute joy and an inspiration. We prayed for a baby and God answered our prayers with Kayden. He gave us a special boy indeed. His special needs in no way take away from the love we have for each other. In fact, I think we share a bit more of a bond because of it.- Susan Collins
would love to help if I can. would like to see about adopting again.- Brenda Wynia
